(CNN) — A car bomb exploded outside a police station early Sunday in the Algerian city of Tizi-Ouzou, wounding at least 33 people, state-run Algerie Presse Service reported.
Eleven of the wounded are police officers, a spokesman for the Nedir Mohamed hospital in Tizi-Ouzou told the Algerian newspaper El Watan.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility.
Tizi-Ouzou is about 100km (62 miles) east of Algiers.
